Born in Collinswood, NJ Barbara MacKinnon moved to
Minnesota in 1968 after marrying Jack MacKinnon. Barbara has a
Master of Divinity Degree and a background in art, and a life long passion
for reading and writing.
Barbara and her husband began researching the
Clan MacKinnon which led them to Scotland for 30 days in 2003.
There, inspired by the beauty, history, the native hospitality,
Barbara began to weave the tale of Andrew MacLean and Mary Sinclair, which
resulted in her award winning first novel, Where Rivers Meet.
A contemporary romance/suspense set in the Scottish town of
Dunkeld in Perthshire.
The couple are
members of Clan
MacKinnon international. Jack is Commissioner of the Clan
MacKinnon of Minnesota and Barbara presides over
the Kirkin' the Scottish/American
custom of "blessing the tartan". Barbara enjoys all things
Celtic.
She enjoys performing all types of weddings - especially those with
Celtic themes.
